My name is Ashley Hertner, and I am a Registered\n          Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists.\n        <\/p>\n        <p>\n          For as long as I can remember, I\u2019ve been drawn to the role emotions\n          play in shaping our experiences- not only from how we react to them,\n          but in how they guide, inform and enrich our lives through both the\n          highs and the lows. I came to understand that emotions are not\n          obstacles to overcome- they are powerful signals, offering insight,\n          connection and even healing when we learn to listen to them with\n          compassion.\n        <\/p>\n        <p>\n          That understanding sparked something deep in me. I knew in my heart\n          that I wanted to spend my life helping others explore and honour their\n          emotional world- to feel validated and empowered.\n        <\/p>\n        <p>\n          Personally, I grew up on the East Coast, in a culture deeply rooted in\n          connection, relationships and community. That environment helped shape\n          my belief in the importance of showing up for one another-\n          whole-heartedly. It\u2019s this relational spirit that I bring into my\n          therapy room: a space where curiosity and openness are used with\n          intention to be fully seen, supported and met exactly where you are.\n        <\/p>\n      <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n    <div class=\"about-mid reveal-up\">\n      <p id=\"belief\">\n        My practice is built on this belief: that emotional awareness is not a\n        weakness, but a profound source of strength. My role in\n            these positions really allowed me to step into support others in\n            real world experiences. I worked with attachment styles to assist in\n            reunification, while also supporting the logistics of families\n            navigating mental health systems and supports in youth and adult\n            services. After a few years in the field, I pursued a Master of\n            Counselling degree to embark on my journey to be able to support\n            persons from a psychological perspective. Through the opportunities\n            of Student Internship, Mental Health Internship, a Provisional\n            Psychologist title, and now as a Registered Psychologist, I have\n            gained 8 years in the mental health sector and am eager to continue\n            my journey to learn and grow.\n          <\/p>\n          <p>\n            My experience and interests include working with clients who\n            experience challenges in the following areas: anxiety, depression,\n            tolerating distress, emotional dysregulation, boundary setting,\n            stress management, life transitions, trauma, intrapersonal\n            relations, interpersonal relationships &#038; communication. I have a\n            growing passion in serving individuals who have experienced\n            traumatic events or adverse experiences. As well, a special interest\n            in serving those who encounter experiences with emotional\n            sensitivity.\n          <\/p>\n        <\/div>\n        <div class=\"about-flex--right\">\n          <p>\n            I have obtained the Gottman Method Couple\u2019s Therapy Level 1 and 2.\n            As well as training in the following modalities of therapy,\n            including: Dialectic Behavioral Therapy Comprehensive &#038; Skills\n            Training, Emotion-Focused Attachment Science, Eye-Movement\n            Desensitization and Reprocessing (basic, and advanced trainings\n            include: RTEP \u2013 Recent Events Protocol, GTEP \u2013 Group Protocol and\n            EMDR for CPTSD- complex trauma). I also obtained the Gottman Method\n            Couple\u2019s Therapy Level 1 and 2 and other attachment trainings which\n            involve the teachings of supporting parents and transplanted\n            children. I strive to be diligent in extracting skillsets which draw\n            from a Trauma-Informed lens, by maintaining trainings involving\n            diversity, and cultural sensitivity.\n Psychologists in Alberta. Effective January 1,\n        2025, it is recommended that individual, couples and family therapy in\n        Alberta costs $235.00 per 50-minute counselling session. Following the\n        Recommended Fee Schedule, 80-minute counselling sessions are available\n        at the cost of $352.50.\n      <\/p>\n      <p>\n        Sliding scale fees may be available and it is encouraged to bring up in\n        consultation or initial sessions to assist with accessibility to\n        therapy.\n      <\/p>\n      <p>\n        Report writing, letters, consultation and
